Getting around in Angers and its surroundings can be done in several ways; by foot, bicycle, car, or public transport. Here’s the list of the most common means of transportation:

  • Bicycle: all Angers residents can borrow a bicycle for free for one year. Go to the Vélocité webpage or contact the Infocampus helpdesk.
  • Bus and tramway :
    • Angers : Irigo serves the city with :
      • 3 tram lines: A, B and C
      • 4 major lines: 1 to 4 (Monday to Sunday 5.30am – midnight)
      • 8 local lines: 5 to 12 (Monday to Saturday 6am – 9pm)
      • 5 express lines: E20 to E24 (Monday to Saturday 7am – 9.30pm)
      • But also the suburban network with : lines 30 to 42

  • Coach: most of the Maine et Loire region is covered by the regional transport system Aleop. It is possible to visit the region by coach.
  • Train: For all your travel needs, SNCF Voyageurs and the Pays de la Loire Region are offering season tickets and discount cards, so you can travel at reduced prices: Season ticket / Fares and discount cards
  • Carpooling: carpooling is economical and user-friendly, for example with the apps Blablacar and Blablacar Daily.
  • Others: Destineo is a platform that allows you to create an itinerary combining different means of transportation (bus, train, bicycle, walking).
